The program enables management of media display points connected to the platform. To access a media display point, the latter should have the Displayforce Player program running and be connected to the Personal Profile (platform).
Media display devices are managed in the Control panel.
To remove the connection between a media display point and the platform, open the point’s context menu and click "Delete device from account".
The media display point will be deleted from the Displayforce Manager and Displayforce Designer.
To be able to turn the screen on or off, you must have the media display point connected to a TV panel via RS-232 cable. Model-appropriate adapters from the TV panel’s manufacturer shall be used; connection shall be made as per instruction. In case USB-COM adapters are used, corresponding drivers shall be installed. Control COM-port in the OS shall be defined as the very first one.
To turn the screen on or off:
- Open the context menu of the media display point.
- In the "Commands" menu, select "Display" or "TV screen (RS-232/COM port)", depending on the screen connection type.
- Select the action you need.
- The status of screen at the media display point will be changed.

To block or unblock screen buttons:
- Open the context menu of the media display point.
- In the "Commands" menu, select "TV screen control (RS-232/COM port)".
- Select the action you need.
To turn player into or out of the full screen mode:
- Open the context menu of the media display point.
- In the "Commands" menu, select "Fullscreen".
- Select the action you need.
Status of the player window at the media display point will be changed.
To adjust sound volume level, open the context menu of the media display point, select "Commands"/"Sound volume", then select the volume level you need. Volume level of the media display point will be adjusted.
To pause or resume playback of a project template (or advertisement campaign), open the context menu of the media display point, select "Commands"/"Settings", then select the action you need.
Configuration of a media display point includes adjustment of its OS services, power supply, and other parameters enabling functioning of Displayforce Player.
To configure a media display point automatically, open its context menu, select "Commands"/"Properties…", and click "Auto configure". Media display point settings will be adjusted automatically.
While a Windows-based device is configured, Displayforce Player:
- Requests admin rights, if for whatever reason they have not been granted during the program installation;
- Disables User Account Control (UAC) in order to get extended capabilities for device control;
- Disables Adobe AIR auto updates in order to prevent too many pop-up windows;
- Installs itself into startup.
To adjust other settings manually, select the corresponding menu item and make the necessary changes.
To relaunch player, open the context menu of the media display point, select "Commands", and click "Restart player". Displayforce Player will be relaunched at the selected media display point.
Activating/focusing player serves to bring the player to the front on media display point screen. The player window becomes active. To use this function, open the context menu of the media display point, select "Commands", and click "Activate/focus player". The Displayforce Player program will be shown on screen and the program window will become active.
Minimizing/hiding player serves to hide its window on media display point screen. The template project and the advertisement campaign also cease to be shown. To use this function, open the context menu of the media display point, select "Commands", and click "Minimize/hide player". The Displayforce Player program window will be hidden on screen.
To turn a media display point off, open its context menu, select "Commands", and click "Shutdown device". The media display point will be shutdown.
To turn a media display point into sleeping mode, open its context menu, select "Commands", and click "Sleep device". The media display point will go into sleeping mode.
To turn a media display point into hibernation mode, open its context menu, select "Commands", and click "Hibernate device". The media display point will hibernate.
To reboot a media display point, open its context menu, select "Commands", and click "Reboot device". The media display point will be rebooted.
To update the Displayforce Player program, open the context menu of a media display point, select "Commands", and click "Update player application". If an update is available, the program will be downloaded and updated at the media display point.`
To make a screenshot, open the context menu of the media display point and click "Get screenshot". The media display point icon in the Control panel will be updated.
The Control panel enables you to create folders in order to group media display points.
To create a folder:
- Click the "Create folder" button.
- In the "Folder name" field, enter the folder name and click "Create".
- The folder will be added.
To change the folder name:
- Right-click on the folder icon and select "Rename…".
- In the "Folder name" field, enter the new name for the group, then click "Rename".
- The group will be renamed.
To delete a group, including deletion of all its media display points from the platform:
- Right-click on the folder icon and select "Delete folder from account".
- Confirm deletion by clicking "Delete".
- The folder and all media display points contained therein will disappear from the Control panel and the platform.
Media display points can be grouped by tags.
To create a new tag:
- Click "Tags" and select "New tag…". Alternatively: Open context menu of any media display point, select "Tags", and click "New tag…".
- Type the tag name into the "New tag name" field, then click "Add tag".
- The tag will be added.
To group media display points by tags:
- Select one or more media display points.
- Open the context menu of selected points, select "Tags"/"Add tag", then click on the name of tag that you wish to assign to them.
- Confirm tagging by clicking the "Add" button.
- Devices will be tagged with the tag selected. You can tag every media display point with several tags, if necessary.
To sort media display points by tags, click "Tags" and select one or more tags to view respectively tagged media display points.
To display all media display points, click "Tags" and select "Show all".
To remove tag from media display points:
- Select one or more points.
- Open the context menu of the points selected, choose "Tags"/"Delete tag", then click on the tag you want to remove.
- Confirm tag removal by clicking "Delete tag".
- The selected media display points will be untagged.
To delete tag from the platform:
- Click "Tags".
- Select "Delete tag" and click on the tag you want to delete.
- Confirm tag removal by clicking "Delete tag".
- The tag will be deleted from the tag list and from all media display points that had been tagged with it.
To change name of a media display points:
- Select the media display point.
- Open its context menu and click "Rename…".
- Enter the new name into the "Device name" field, then click "Rename".
- The media display point will be renamed.
Media display point data include:
- name;
- name of the project template currently played;
- version of Displayforce Player launched at the media display point.
To view data, open the device’s context menu and select "Properties…". The data will be shown on screen.
To sort media display points, go to the "Sort" menu and select sort order.
To undo sorting, select "Remove sort" in the "Sort" menu.
Export of media display points data covers the following data: device ID, name, and status.
To export data:
- Select one or more media display points.
- Open the context menu of the points selected, choose "Export…", then click on the designation of export file format.
- Choose destination folder for export on your hard drive.
- Data will be exported to the specified folder.
To view an up-to-date list and status of media display points connected to the platform, open the context menu in the list of media display points and click "Update devices list".The list of devices will be updated.
