The "Media content" layer is used for display of media content on screen.
The layer enables for placement of: standard content ("<empty layer>" or "Media layer"), signal from TV tuner, camera image, live streaming, image sequence (successive animation). The type of content is selected when the layer is added.
When the layer is added, you can select its content at once (for the types "<empty layer>" or "Media layer"). The "Media content" layer of the type "<empty layer>" or "Media layer" enables placement of images, video, and flash.
This layer enables you to adjust the element’s view:
- content scaling;
- alpha channel.
To adjust the element’s view:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- In the "Scale" field, select one of the available values:
- Auto – actual size of content elements (when layer size exceeds content size);
- Real – actual size of content elements;
- Extended – content elements are extended (subject to deformation, each side is set according to project size);
- Fit – content is fit (scaled according to the shorter side);
- Outfit – content is outfit (scaled according to the longer side).
- In the "Alpha" field, enter value for the alpha-channel (transparency).
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
For media content of the type "<empty layer>" or "Media layer", this component enables changing to a different layer type – namely, the button.
To switch the layer type, click on the layer name and select "Button". The layer type will be changed. Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
Static content includes locally stored images, video and flash.
Static content can be added in one of the following ways:
- from the Properties panel;
- from the Media library.
To add static content from the Properties panel:
- In the Properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Click the "Src" button and select "Static".
- Click the content adding button.
- Select the needed content file and click "Open".
- To add static content from the Media library:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Drag content from the Media library to the content adding button.
- Regardless of the method selected, static content will be placed in the layer.
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
To remove content from the layer:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Click on the removal button.
- The content will be removed.
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
Internet content includes images video, and flash accessed via a link to a web resource.
To add content accessed via a link to a web resource:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Click the "Src" button and select "Link".
- Enter the content address into the "Src" field.
- In the "Reload" field, set the frequency for reload of data at the specified address:
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
To place text content (alphanumeric data) obtained from web resource:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Click the "Src" button and select "Plain text".
- In the URL field, enter the content address.
- In the "Reload" field, set the frequency for reload of data at the specified address:
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
To place media content aggregated through RSS:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Click the "Src" button and select RSS.
- In the URL field, enter the RSS transmission address.
- Click the "Parse" button.
- Select one or more elements of the structure to be used as sources for data gathering. Contents of the "Text" field in pop-up window will be updated. If necessary, enter text before or after the automatically generated content. Click "Apply" or "OK". Value of the "Src" field in the panel will be updated.
- In the "Reload" field, set the frequency for data import from RSS:
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
To add media content obtained from XML:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Click the "Src" button and select XML.
- In the URL field, enter address of the XML file.
- Click the "Parse" button.
- Select one or more elements of the structure to be used as sources for data gathering. Contents of the "Text" field in pop-up window will be updated. If necessary, enter text before or after the automatically generated content. Click "Apply" or "OK". Value of the "Src" field in the panel will be updated.
- In the "Reload" field, set the frequency for data import from the XML file:
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
To place content obtained from the Displayforce Manager:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Click the "Src" button and select CMS.
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
- Content placement will be managed in the Displayforce Manager, in the campaign settings.
The "Media content" layer with the type "TV Tuner" enables transmission of signal received through the TV Tuner installed at the media display point.
To adjust layer settings:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- In the "Device name" field, select a TV tuner or add a new one.
- Select the type of input signal in the "Input" field:
- default – the type of signal used by default at the media display points;
- Analog;
- Composit;
- SVideo;
- HDMI.
- To mute sound during content playback, check the "Mute" box.
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
The "Media content" layer with the type "Camera" enables transmission of signal received from the camera installed at the media display point.
To adjust layer settings:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- In the "Device" field, select a camera or add a new one.
- In the "Scale" field, select one of the available values:
- To mute sound during content playback, check the "Mute" box.
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
The "Media content" layer with the type "Streaming" enables placement of live streaming.
To adjust layer settings:
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- In the "Type" field, select one of the values available:
- HTTP;
- UDP;
- Other.
- In the "Codec" field, select one of the values available:
- H.264 (MP4);
- MPEG-2;
- Other.
- In the "Network URL" field, specify the transmission address.
- In the "Scale" field, select one of the available values:
- In the "Alpha" field, enter value for the alpha-channel (transparency).
- In the fields "W" and "H" specify the source resolution in pixels.
- To mute sound during content playback, check the "Mute" box.
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
The "Media content" layer with the type "Sequence" enables placement of images that follow each other, creating an animation effect.
To adjust layer settings:
- Drag images into "content" folder in the Layers panel or use the "Add" button to add images from your disk to the layer.
- In the properties panel, open the "Layer" tab.
- Fill the "FPS" field with the number of frames per unit of time.
- In the "Scale" field, select one of the available values:
- In the "Alpha" field, enter value for the alpha-channel (transparency).
- To repeat playback, check the "Loop" box.
- To optimize images, check the "Optimize" box.
- Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes made.
