Hardware and system requirements to run DISPL Player
DISPL Player is a cross-platform application, responsible for displaying digital signage campaigns on screens and simultaneously collecting visitor analytics through camera feed.
Each version of DISPL Player avaialble for the many different operating system has it's hardware and system requirements. Below is a list containing information on which hardware and systems you may pick to run DISPL Player on.
Please have in mind that not all features are available in all OSs. The functionalities available for each OS is discriminated in tables with green check and red "x".
1. Linux (our most recommended OS)

8. Other hardwares and systems
We have succesfully conducted tests in many hardwares and operating systems. We can mention succesful usecases of DISPL Player with MagicBox, NovaStar, ChromeOS, TVBoxes, and other.
Please consult our team if you plan to run a POC project with DISPL Player using hardwares and OSs not listed above.

9. Internet Connection Requirements
A stable network (~2 Mbps or higher) is advised for real-time Visitor’s Insights data uploads, remote commands, and content syncing.
Please be attentive of DISPL Session Time in case you have issues with lost analytics data.

10. Camera Requirements
You may use DISPL sensor, USB cable cameras, built-in or IP cameras to detect and analyze your visitors.
10.1 Common requirements
- Recommended camera mode for Visitor’s Insights: 1920×1080px (FullHD) resolution with 25-30 FPS video stream.
Just for content targeting (without Visitor’s Insights) can be used: 1280×720px (720p) resolution with 15 FPS video stream. - No autofocus or it should be disabled.
- Camera optical sensor's light sensitivity must be appropriate for the lighting environment used to clearly distinguish faces/silhouettes.
- Camera viewing angle (zoom) must be appropriate for the installation environment used to clearly distinguish faces/silhouettes.
- High quality camera sensor without noises.
- Maximum supported resolution (could vary depends on camera capabilities and device performance):
For Linux/iOS/macOS: 3840×2160px (4K) resolution with 60 FPS video stream.
For Windows/Android: 3840×2160px (4K) resolution with 30 FPS video stream.
10.2 USB/embedded cameras
- Usual USB cameras/webcams or embedded (to device/kiosk/tablet/...) which available in OS by HID interface or can be used by standard system APIs.
yuv422andmjpegcamera frame formats supported. - Note: 3D/stereo/deep sensors cannot be used.
10.3 IP cameras
- Recommended protocol: RTSP with H.264 video compression.
- Also supported protocol: HTTP with MJPEG video compression without authentication or with Basic/Digest authentication.
- A stable network connection.
