Session time is the amount of time in minutes that DISPL Player will wait for a returning customer before uploading his/her analytics to your DISPL Content Management System.
Session time is a useful tool, created to give a reasonable delay for a customer to be detected again, preventing double-counting, and preserving the reliability of the analytics results.
Example: The store opened today at 10AM. It's already 11 AM and there's no analytics data in my Visitor Insights report.
Let's discuss.
Open your platform, and please navigate to "Settings".
Click on it, and you will see the numerical value named under "Storage period of face descriptors on the device"
This is your your platform's session time (value in minutes) which is set to 180 minutes (3 hours) by default. You can change it if you wish. It means that DISPL Player will take at least this amount of time to send a visitor's analytics data.
And I say "at least" for a reason: if the visitor comes back in 80 minutes, his session time is reset fully, back to 180 minutes. And DISPL Player will again, wait for 3 hours to check if this customer will appear once again. Thus. the visitor's analytics will be available 3 hours after his last contact.
Concluding: If 180 minutes (or the value in minutes you set) has not passed since the first customer was seen today, there will be no analytics data.
If your store opened at 10AM, and the session time is 180 minutes, the first analytics data will start appearing at 1PM.
