Using device custom field in DISPL Designer
You can use custom fields to populate device-sensitive text, set image URL per device, set webframe URL per device by using DISPL Designer.
Use cases can be, for example:
- Present table number in restaurant ordering devices on tables;
- On commercial signage totems, show the name of the place, e.g. "Waiting Area 1", "You are now in the Food Court";
- Show device number on screen in every screenshot for better support/control.
In DISPL Designer
- Create a new template;
- Add a Interface Editor;
-
Let's try showing a text with our CUSTOM FIELD value inside - add a Text element and set it's "Src" (source of text) as Date/Time;
- To evoke the Custom Field value, please set the text to the following code:
{{CUSTOM::Contact point type}}5. For example, let's use FAVORITE COLOR as done in our last article.
6. Let's also add a Webframe - clicking on "+" to use a custom field "LINK" to serve as a variable website for the device playing this template.
7. Check the device for custom field values filled.
8. Test playback the template.
Done!
