Multi-camera support
This new feature for DISPL Player consists of enabling our software to collect live visitor analytics from 2 or more cameras connected to the hardware, simultaneously.
Previously - versions 6.30 and older - it allowed one single camera to be enabled as the live video supplier.
As of version 6.31 (May, 2026) DISPL Player now allow one, two or more cameras to be enabled as video supply for visitor analytics processing.
Requirements
- Use DISPL Player in Linux version (for now, for other OSs it will be made available soon);
- Any hardware equal or superior to the minimum requirements;
- As of now (may, 2026), up to 2 USB cameras/DISPL Sensor and 1 IP camera (optional);
- Visitor Insights, Targeted Digital Signage or All-in-One (NFR) live subscription.
IMPORTANT: As of version 6.31, there's a 2-camera limitation set. If more than 2 are needed, please consult with DISPL's Tech Support team.
How to enable multi-camera
-
Update your DISPL Player (Linux version) via the main menu - ensure it's 6.31 or superior;
- Go to the Devices menu, then Camera;
- In "Camera", one of the avaiable options is "Auto". Change it to "Multiple cameras".
- With "Multiple cameras" selected, please specify which of them will be Camera 1 and Camera 2.
- IP cameras also qualify for multiple camera setup.
How multi-camera affects visitor insights reports
As of current version 6.31:
FEATURES RELEASED
- Total camera video feed range is increased;
- Installation costs are significantly reduced, for many use cases;
- Projects gain extra flexibility.
TO BE IMPROVED
- All cameras represent effectively the same device;
- Visitor analytics cannot be filtered by camera (e.g. visitor 1 detected on device A, not possible to know if detected by camera X or camera Y);
- Content Views cannot be filtered by camera;
- Multiple screens + multiple cameras + one single hardware is now possible - but the views history will be registered not considering from which camera/screen the customer was detected.
- IP camera quantity max. 1 camera.
