Camera
To set up your camera or DISPL Sensor to work correctly with DISPL Player, follow the steps below:
- Plug in your camera or DISPL Sensor on the USB port
- Run DISPL Player, at the Main Menu, open Devices section
- Open Camera
- Click Camera to choose the correct camera you wish DISPL Player to process images from.
- Keep in mind a great way to tell if DISPL Player is able to detect visitor's faces is by looking for a rectangle around your own face during this step (just as the image above). This tells us if a face is being detected by the AI-powered face recognition software.
- Change camera rotation (0-90-180-270º) to suit your application. Practical cases where this is used are a) for 90º or 270º, to collect vertical camera feed for a specific interactive template, or when you fixated the DISPL Sensor or camera to a wall, and b) 180º, when installing a DISPL sensor or camera at ceilings.
WARNING: AT WRONG ANGLES, NO FACES WILL BE RECOGNIZED.
The images below show a very clear face on camera feed, BUT no face recognition rectangle. This is due to the angle. Always configure your camera to capture faces straight, eyes up and mouth down - this is the way DISPL Player currently searches for face patterns - optimizing data processing.
- Check resolution. You are free to change it to any format, as respecting the syntax "[number]x[number]" without commas or brackets. Example: 1280x720. This is a horizontal 16:9 example. If your set resolution is not available, it will be changed for the nearest possible. Ex: to attempt a vertical screen output from my built in 1280x720 horizontal camera, and I type 720x1280, with is it's vertical inverse, it will be automatically set to the nearest possible, which is 405x720, such as in the examples above.
-
Check FPS (Frames per seconds). Most cameras are set for 30FPS by default. We recommend using no less than 25FPS. Less than this would cause a significant data loss. Less frames show less information, hence, less reliable analytic data is generated.
