One way to do it is changing the "Minimum face size" parameter.
This feature regulates the minimum heigth, in pixels, of a face recognition frame so it is processed and analyzed.
Some cameras make faces naturally smaller, such as built-in cameras from tablets. So, calibration is needed.
Warning: Changing Minimum face size may may bring farther faces at the cost of data reliability. This means, less realiable judgement of gender, age, and other demographic data. Change with caution. Avoid changes without consulting a support specialist, and stick to the default values as much as possible.
- Open DISPL Player
- Enable "Special and Beta Features".
- Under "General", select "Fine-tuning for recognition"
- Select "Min face size", click, and change it's value.
- To detect smaller/more distant faces reduce this value. To detect only faces closer to the camera, increase this value. Value is 80px by default.
- Done! Now you may test this change by using a metrics campaign.
