Nightvision and Infrared Cameras collecting analytics
Yes, they work! Face and body recognition both work normally while operating in a dark or poorly-lit environments.
Many IP cameras in the market provide this feature, which consists of a simple set of LED lights emmiting infrared light, which are invisible to the human eye, but detectable by cameras.
To have in mind: the face detection range is expected to be smaller than the 4 meters with normal lights, here, it's up to max 3 meters. Face quality drops rapidly when the visitor gets farther away from the camera's infrared light source. On a normal case, the lights sources at external to the camera.
DISPL sensor
The DISPL sensor contained in your DISPL kit does not contain native infrared lighting or nightvision. If you really need data collecting in dark areas, you may install third-party infrared light sources, such as LED IR bulbs or IR torches, and DISPL sensor will be able to detect faces in the dark.
Third-party cameras
Check for nightvision cameras available at the market. If they are IP cameras, please make sure they support protocols+compressions: a) HTTP+MJPEG or b) RTSP+h.264.
