In this tutorial I'll explain how you may create a targeted campaign in DISPL Designer, using multiple different facial attributes to change between scenes inside an Interface Editor.
- Open DISPL Designer, login to your platform, and create a new template - or open a template which you desire to include a targeted campaign.
- Add an Interface Editor if you still don't have one. Components > Add > Interface Editor
- Edit the Interface Editor, by clicking the pencil option, as below:
- On the Scenes area (right side of the Interface Editor window), create 3 scenes. In this case study, we'll create a a) Generic Scene, b) one scene for 35-60 years old women, and c) one scene for a smiling person.
- On the Generic scene, select the background by clicking the gray area around the scene. On the right side panel, select the "Actions" tab. This serves to give intructions to this scene, on what actions it should take.
- Click the "+" button found within the "Actions" tab, and select "when biggest face attribute detected" > "go to". The "go to" action is responsible of changing scenes - showing other content for your visitors as soon as the conditions we set are met (in our case, the conditions are that the face detected by the camera must contain a certain set of attributes).
- Click on the new action created, and configure the attributes required for the scene to take the "go to" action, as shown below. On the "Device" option, choose an existing camera, and, if there is none, create a new camera on "New device".
- The "go to" action requires a destination, that is, another scene. Click the Link to Scene icon
to select the scene that will be shown as soon as our conditions are met:
- Now, the Generic Scene is leading to the Woman 35-60 y/o scene through a facial attributes detection. It is important to understand that it goes to that scene, but, eventually, you may want it to come back to the generic scene as soon as the woman is no longer detected.
To do this, let's create a time limit for the Woman 35-60 y/o scene. Select the Woman scene. - On the Settings tab, change the scene duration to, for example, 10 seconds, as below.
- Select the Link to Scene icon
and choose as destination our first Generic scene:
- Done! Now as soon as the conditions are met, and the camera detects a woman fitting the description, the scene will be changed, and after 10 seconds, we will return to the first scene we created.
- We can create more actions that target attributes to lead to other scenes at the same time.
Let's do another targeting aiming towards "Smile" attribute. So people that smile may see an special scene.
Repeat steps 6-7-8 as below: - Link to Scene
this time, leads to the "Smile detected" scene.
- Select the "Smile detected" scene, and let's program a way to return to Generic scene from this smile scene. This time, in stead of a time limit, we may only return to the starting scene if all faces are lost - that is, if the camera sees that there is no one in front of it anymore.
Create a new action on the "Smile detected" scene.
- Select the "on all faces lost" condition, and "go to" action.
- Select the new action created, set the camera device desired, and Link to Scene
leading to the "Generic scene".
-
Done! Good job! You may now test you new template. To do this, select Template > Playback as below - or simply press CNTRL+ENTER.
If any questions remain, refer to the template file attached to this article. You will need a DISPL Designer license active to try this. Contact our team at support@displ.com.
