Working Hours
Working Hours is a feature in DISPL CMS that will automatically turn devices on and off according to a schedule.
How to find it
Select a device in the Devices window, select the Settings tab. It is turned off by default as below.
Configuring working hours
Turn on the Working hours feature, and turn it on for the days you wish the device to have automatic turno on/off routines.
Multiple turn-ons and turn-off in one single day
Add extra working hours in a single day by clicking the button. In this example, I set working hours for this device on tuesday only, turning on at 10AM, and turning off at 12AM. The same happens at 12:45AM and 8:00PM.
The final result looks like this:
Prerequisites
- Hardware: Device must support ACPI sleep/power states (S0, S1, S2, S3) if applicable.
- Firmware/BIOS: Power management features must be enabled in BIOS/UEFI for PC-based devices.

- Linux: DISPL Player must be run as root (sudo).
- Windows: Admin rights may be required.

Platform-Specific Setup
Tizen & webOS TV Panels
- Working Hours is always supported.
- No special configuration is required.
- You can directly set the power schedule in the DISPL CMS device settings.
DISPL Box V1 (Android, select models)
- Supported only on specific models (contact support for details).
- Power scheduling options will appear automatically in the CMS if your model supports them.
- No additional OS or BIOS configuration required.
DISPL Box V2 (Windows) & Windows PCs
Prerequisites
- Hardware must support ACPI sleep states (S0–S3).
- BIOS/UEFI power management features must be enabled.
- Windows administrative rights may be required.
Step-by-Step Instructions

Check and Enable BIOS/UEFI Power States
- Reboot and enter BIOS/UEFI (press Del, F2, etc.).
- Find and enable ACPI sleep/hibernation modes (S0–S3).
- Make sure “Wake timers” are allowed.
- Save and exit.

Configure Windows Power Options
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
- Ensure Allow wake timers is enabled.
- Confirm sleep/hibernation is allowed.

Enable Working Hours in DISPL CMS
- If your hardware and settings are correct, you’ll see the Working Hours block in device settings.
- Set the schedule for when the device should power on/off.

Troubleshooting
- If the device does not wake as scheduled:
- Re-check BIOS/UEFI and Windows power settings.
- Verify the CMOS battery is functional.
- Ensure DISPL Player is up to date.
- If the device does not wake as scheduled:
DISPL Box V3 (Linux) & Linux x86_64 Devices

Step-by-Step Instructions

Check and Enable BIOS/UEFI Power States
- Reboot and enter BIOS/UEFI (Del, F2, etc.).
- Enable ACPI sleep/hibernation states (S0–S3).
- Enable wake timers if available.
- Save and exit.

Run DISPL Player with Sudo
- Open the terminal.

Launch DISPL Player with root privileges:
sudo displ-player

Enable Working Hours in DISPL CMS
- If requirements are met, the Working Hours block will be visible in device settings.
- Set your desired power schedule.

Troubleshooting
- If scheduled wake does not occur:
- Re-check ACPI and BIOS/UEFI settings.
- Ensure the device’s internal battery (CMOS) is working.
- Confirm you are running DISPL Player as root.
