Let's unpack and set up the DISPL Kit together.
The DISPL box package includes a manual, an HDMI cable, the device, and the power
supply.
On the device, there is a label with a QR code that directs you to the setup instructions
on our website.
Let's start with the manual scenario, where no sensor is used.
For the initial setup, we'll need a mouse and a keyboard, which can be connected via
USB.
Connect the HDMI cable and the power supply, and turn on the device. It runs on a
lightweight version of Windows IoT, customized to work perfectly with the pre-installed
DISPL application.
Once the device starts up, the player configuration window will be displayed.
First, we need to select the correct screen orientation.
You can connect using Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Let's choose Wi-Fi. Find your network and
enter the password.
Once successfully connected, you need to select your time zone. This is important so
that time-based campaigns work correctly and display data on the DISPL platform.
After that you will need to choose which deployment you use - select SaaS.
After selecting, the player will perform an automatic update and restart the application.
Please wait a moment.
Now a window will open asking you to enter a connection code. This can be obtained on
your platform, available at id.displayforce.ai
Adding a Device
Go to the platform, open the Devices section, and add a new device.
Put an identificatory name to the device, next You will see a connection code.
Enter it into your DISPL Box and click on "Connect".
After that, you will need to select a usage scenario: Digital Signage or Visitor Insights.
If we want to record only audience statistics without connecting a screen, we choose
Visitor Insights.
For any other use, select Digital Signage.
The necessary modules will install automatically, and the player window will open.
Since there are no campaigns assigned to the device in the CMS yet, the window will be
black with the DISPL logo. This means the device has connected correctly.
You can right-click anywhere in the window to access the Settings. If you disable the
"Full Screen" option in the dropdown menu, the application will open in windowed
mode.
Here you can check the device status, the application version, or change settings.
Update the device with the "Update Player" button.
To return to playback, click on "Continue Playback".
DISPL Player Configuration
Go to the "General" section.
Then select "Autoconfiguration".
Choose the "Standard" option.
Followed by clicking the "Apply" button.
Finally, verify that the settings are appropriate.
And activate the non-personal attribute recognition options you need:
● Demographics: Age and Gender.
● Attributes: Glasses, hair type and color, facial hair, and hats.
● Emotions: Happiness, anger, surprise, and neutrality.
● Customer Journey (Track ID): Recognition of the same person across the same and different
cameras.
● Masks: Hypoallergenic mask against COVID-19.
The image shows the recommended normal configuration. However, it's good practice
to understand that the more options are activated, the more time and processing
capacity the device will need to recognize attributes. Therefore, it's advisable to
deactivate the options you won't use.
Then, activate the options to send the information to the server so you can view the
data on the platform.
