DISPL KIT — Deployment Checklist (Hardware + Sensor + CMS)
Complete step-by-step guide for first-time installation
1. Pre-Deployment Preparation

2. Hardware Setup
Physical Installation
Place the player in a ventilated area
Connect HDMI from player to display
Connect power adapter
Turn on the display and the player
Verify DISPL Box boots to DISPL main menu screen automatically
Follow initial setup wizard to set timezone and other information.
Network Configuration
Wi-Fi:
Connect to Wi-Fi network
Enter password
Confirm connection status
Ethernet:
Plug in Ethernet cable
Confirm network access
Make sure no local server firewall obstructs DISPL Player's connection to our servers. Refer to this Whitelist guide for instructions on how to grant specific permissions.
3. Sensor Installation (Audience Analytics)
Connection
Plug sensor into a USB port on the player
Wait for sensor recognition
Confirm sensor status in Player, under Devices > Camera, check if video feed shows.
Placement
Height recommended: up to 2.2 meters (black sensor with 4-meters range) or up to 4 meters high (white sensor with 6-meters range and built-in zoom)
Sensor angled downward properly
Sensor facing customer traffic direction, avoiding sideways detection, and waiting areas.
Distance to subject: up to 4 meters
Avoid glare, direct sunlight, or reflections; avoid posters and digital advertisement that may contain faces, since those may be recognized as visitors.
Validation
Confirm sensor appears in CMS under device details, if Player's OS is Windows.
4. CMS Registration & Device Linking
Add Device in CMS
Log into DISPL CMS
Go to Devices → Add Device
Enter Connection Code displayed on the player
Assign device name and location
Verify Device Status
Device appears as Empy, Online or Playback
Last activity timestamp updates
Sensor status shows Online
5. Campaign Setup (Digital Signage Mode)
Content Upload
Upload media (MP4, images, etc.) to the Media Library
Validate format and resolution requirements
Create Campaign
Go to Campaigns → Create Campaign
Add scenes or playlists
Adjust playback duration and transitions
Save the campaign
Assign to Device
Assign the campaign to the device
Push the update
Confirm device downloads content
Check the display for correct playback
6. Analytics Validation (Optional)
Data Verification
Make sure correct license is assigned to the device, on CMS.
At "General", turn on "Non-personalized recognition of visitors"
At "General" > Additional recognition features, turn on all options
At Connection, turn on "Send playback data" and "Send camera data"
IMPORTANT: Confirm real-time detections and correct parameter capturing (such as gender and age) by setting up a metrics campaign. You may create a new campaign with the "In-store brand zone analytics". Follow campaign creation steps.
Check face detection takes less than 1.5 seconds, if more, the test is failed, recheck the steps and system requirements. Check CPU usage under 100% under the task management application (Windows/Linux/Android).
Check distance of face detection. If less than 4 meters, check lighting conditions and sensor placement. You may fine-tune the mimum face size in specific cases, contact support team for instructions.
Check dashboard for metrics
Ensure demographic data appears after the Session Time (180 minutes by default - you may change it in CMS, under Settings)
Adjust sensor and lighting if detection accuracy is low
7. Final System Test
Visual Test
Screen orientation correct
No scaling or cropping issues
Audio functioning (if required)
Performance Test
Smooth playback
No system freezing
Device stays continuously online
CMS Sync Test
Device status remains Online or Playback
Campaign changes sync quickly
Sensor analytics sync as expected
8. Deployment Handover (Optional)
